Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a long-term progressive condition in which the kidneys gradually lose their ability to filter waste and excess fluids from the blood, resulting in the buildup of toxins in the body. It is often a result of other health issues like high blood pressure and/or diabetes. As it is a gradually progressing disease, once diagnosed it is important to take precautionary measures to try to slow down the disease progression and minimise the symptom effects. This includes to control blood pressure and diabetes, and eat a kidney-friendly diet. With CKD effecting more than 700 million people globally, myjoju is here to help manage the disease, regardless of the stage of CKD progression.
-
myjoju supports you by offering personalised daily CKD nutrition targets and meal planning, and logging/tracking features to keep real-time and historic track of these CKD-related nutrients. Although different from person to person, a kidney-friendly diet might include limiting the intake of e.g. protein, sodium, phosphorus or potassium. myjoju also provides educational resources, kidney-friendly recipe ideas, and (soon to come) monitoring of key health markers. In essence: we are here to provide knowledge and support for a kidney-healthy diet and promote overall kidney health.

Yes! As many users have a range of lifestyle and health related goals and objectives (incl. weight), myjoju has been developed to allow you to track a variety of parameters. Just like with the CKD specific nutrients, the target can either be provided manually or generated in accordance with internationally recognised guidelines based on the user’s profile.
-
The myjoju App allows you to track a set of macro- and micronutrients, both directly related to keeping a kidney-friendly diet, and for general health and wellness purposes. Each ingredient that is represented in our food and recipe databases has a complete and validated nutrient list, providing you with clear and accurate measurements for meal planning and consumption logging.
The nutrients currently available in the myjoju App include: protein, sodium, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, carbohydrates, sugar, total fat, saturated fat, dietary fibre and cholesterol. On top of that, the energy (kcal) amount is included.
Try logging your last meal and see for yourself!

Yes, it is very simple to add a glass of water to your myjoju consumption logging/tracking. You will find the “Water Consumption” on the home screen, right above your food log. In addition, myjoju automatically registers and tracks all the fluid volumes contributed via normal food and drinks consumption, which is specifically important to people on dialysis.
-
myjoju only uses well-validated sources for the nutrition information in its databases, like reputable academic research institutions and government departments. This is fully in line with our company’s “Reliability” value, i.e. to never compromise on the quality of the products and services we offer.
-
You can choose from a wide variety of more than 380 kidney-friendly recipes in myjoju; a list that continues to grow each week. The recipes can be filtered in various ways, take allergies and dietary preferences into account, and be selected based on each user’s specific CKD-related dietary guidelines. The recipes are scalable from 1 to 10 persons, and equally suitable and enjoyable to family and friends. We believe kidney-friendly meals should not be specially made food, but a normal component of the whole family’s cuisine.
-
Indeed, you can! After logging your food consumption using myjoju, you will immediately be able to see your tracked nutrients displayed in clear visual graphs in relation to your daily consumption targets. The home screen provides a high level overview of all key nutrients, while a more granular view becomes visible by clicking on any of the tracked nutrients. A 7-, 14- and 30-days historic overview per nutrient is also available, enabling the myjoju users and their healthcare team to identify consumption patterns over time.
Have a look for yourself, log some kidney-friendly food and check out your consumption versus your targets!
-
We do! You will find in myjoju that we have a “Knowledge” section, where you can find kidney nutrition and CKD related questions with answers, including sources of additional information for each topic. As a myjoju user we want you to be as informed as you possibly can about your heath condition, so proactive steps can be taken to reduce its effect on your personal life. Knowledge is power!
-
Not all stores, brands and products provide information of especially the CKD-related micronutrients in the barcode information. When this information is missing, the logged consumption will differ from the real consumption, and the tracking feature will misrepresent reality. Thus, in accordance with our “Reliability” quality stamp we will not offer bar-code scanning until we have a dataset that is sufficiently comprehensive and quality checked.

Keeping your data secure is a top-priority for the myjoju team. As outlined in our Privacy Policy, we have taken all the required compliant measures to ensure your data is well protected and safely handled in line with our focus on being recognised as a reliable and trusted partner by all our customers. In addition, although the requirements differ from country to country, we have a company policy of storing all user data on local servers in the user’s country of residence only.
If you want to read up on our data privacy promise, please read the myjoju Privacy Policy section on this website.
